The Heart of Dreams
Polina è un’artista multidisciplinare che esplora i fili tra il passato, il futuro, il temporale e il senza tempo, creando portali dal presente. L’artista crea oggetti ironici, sculture e sculture indossabili che successivamente diventano parte del suo cosmo artistico, catturato in foto e video, utilizzando tecniche artigianali all'incrocio della tecnologia digitale.
I mezzi preferiti di Polina includono tessuti e fotografie d'archivio. Come artista indigena, appartenente a una minoranza etnica in Russia, Polina attinge e riflette sulle esperienze delle sue antenate, utilizzando tessuti tessuti a mano per stabilire un senso di profonda connessione con le generazioni passate.
Nelle sue opere, Polina fonde deliberatamente insieme materiali spesso contrastanti: perle e schede madri, macchinari e pizzi, cuori anatomici e metalli per raggiungere l'obiettivo di sconvolgere le narrazioni socio-culturali visive.

Polina Osipova è nata nel 1998, Repubblica Ciuvascia, Russia. Polina ha studiato al Carl Fabergé College of Applied Arts (gioielleria), ritirandosi successivamente per immergersi nellapprendimento delle tecniche artigianali indigene. Vive nel Regno Unito dal 2022, ed ha ricevuto il Creative Activism Award della Fondazione Cultures of Resistance in Brasile.
Polina is a multidisciplinary artist exploring the threads between the past future, the temporal and the timeless, creating portals into them from the present. The artist creates ironic objects, sculptures, and wearable sculptures that subsequently become part of her artistic cosmos, captured in photos and videos,using handcrafted techniques at the junction of digital technology.
Polina’s preferred media include textiles and archival photographs. As an indigenous artist, born into an ethnic minority in Russia, Polina taps into and reflects upon her female ancestors’ experiences, using hand-woven textiles to establish a sense of deep connection to the past generations.
In her works, Polina deliberately fuses often contrasting materials - pearls and motherboards, machinery and lace, anatomical hearts and metals to achieve the aim of disrupting visual socio-cultural narratives.

Polina Osipova was born in 1998, Chuvash Republic, Russia. Polina studied at Carl Fabergé College of Applied Arts (Jewellery), later withdrawing to immerse herself in learning indigenous handcrafted techniques. Based in UK since 2022, she is the recipient of the Creative Activism Awards from the Cultures of Resistance Foundation in Brazil.
